Simple Changes #56
Ensure that arts venues you work with are signed up to the National Access Scheme (Hynt)
Problem
Those with a disability (long illness, health problem or disability which limits daily activities) are less likely to participate in arts activity (37%) than those without (42%). Hynt is the national access scheme that works with theatres and arts centres in Wales to make sure there is a consistent offer available for visitors with an impairment or specific access requirement and their Personal Assistants or Carers.
Simple Change
By ensuring that the arts venues you work with are signed up to Hynt, you are ensuring that arts and culture in Wales are more equal and inclusive and that everyone in Wales can experience the breadth and depth of cultural offers that these buildings provide in their communities.
