Simple Changes #71
Take involvement opportunities to people, rather than expecting them to come to you.
Problem
Many organisations struggle to attract local people to attend ‘consultation events’ because it is challenging to find venues and arrangements that fit with people’s varied commitments and lifestyles.
Simple Change
An alternative approach is to take involvement activities to areas of high footfall – places that people go as part of their daily routine, such as schools, shops, libraries and leisure centres. This removes barriers to involvement and ensures natural and engaged conversation.
