Use plain English and Welsh as standard in any documents intended for the public

Problem
Across the UK, around 1 in 6 adults still struggle with reading and writing; in Wales 12 per cent of the Welsh population has not reached Level 1 of basic literacy skills, with over 55’s facing greater than average challenges.

Simple Change
To ensure transparent public services, that people can feel a part of, you should ensure that there is a plain English/Welsh version of material intended for the public, which come as standard. This removes barriers such as long, off-putting and over-technical documents with specialised language.
