This is us:

Changing culture in the public sector, improving the social, economic, environmental and cultural well- being of Wales and protecting the interests of future generations all fall within the remit of the Well-being of Future Generations Act. The Future Generations Commissioner and her Team provide advice to the Welsh Government and other public bodies in Wales on delivering the Act for current and future generations and assess and report on how they are delivering.

We are proud to encourage a highly flexible, hybrid and progressive work environment and have stunning office space close to Cardiff city centre. We support Anytime Anywhere working and trust you to decide where and how best you’d like to work. We have a six-hour working day aspiration, offer a generous civil service pension scheme, 30 days annual leave, a Well-being Gift, an eco-friendly smartphone, ‘lunch’n’learn’ sessions, an Employee Assistance Programme, we regularly plant trees through Size of Wales contributions and we’ll provide you with a well-being ‘Cheerleader’ to support your success.

Guaranteed Interview Scheme: We recognise our team could be more diverse so operate a guaranteed interview scheme for people from Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic backgrounds and disabled people who apply and meet the essential job criteria. Tell us about your lived experience when making your application.

Is this you?

Are you an innovator – someone who is constantly curious, a visual storyteller, someone who is always full of ideas? You’ll be at ease with running our busy social media channels and enjoy creating multi-visual and audio content like podcasts, including commissioning, when needed, infographics and videos.

A confident communicator, you will be able to write well and create snappy social media content for all three of our social media channels (Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn). You will be able to distil engaging content from complex information, create graphics and lead comprehensive social media campaigns. You’ll help us explore new media such as Facebook and TikTok for example.

You’ll help us have the best website we can for public bodies and the public by using your own knowledge of using a CMS to continually update content. You will also be able to successfully liaise with our website developers to improve the website even further.

As a Team we approach our work fearlessly, learn quickly, and improve constantly. We like to think differently, to question and to try new ways of doing things. We are looking for people who can work with agility, who like to continually improve their performance and knowledge, adapting their role and purpose in response to the needs of the team.

We have a long-term vision for Wales and are responsive to the political environment, adjusting our work where necessary to achieve the best outcomes. You will be comfortable with a dash of disruption and shifting sands as we tend not to operate in a highly structured way.
