Leadership Academy 2021-22 Cohort
Not your typical programme
Engineers, feminists, marine biologists, artists, students, graduates, retail workers, environmentalists, civil servants, lawyers and many more, make up the latest brilliant cohort of 32 young, diverse Welsh delegates to our Leadership Academy.
Each delegate brings something different to the table and we have been so excited to learn from and challenge each other to do better for our people and our planet.
The programme encourages the cohort to put into practice the skills that they are learning, within their own organisation, sector or community, via a Well-being of Future Generations Action Plan which is supported by our own team of Change Makers.
Our participants will be invited to join our Alumni network – to shape the movement of change for future generations and continue to work with us to drive the change that Wales needs to transform itself into a well-being nation.
During the programme the participants challenge current thinking through reverse mentoring and collaborate with experts and decision makers on the most pressing challenges. This programme helps our young leaders to build the skills, knowledge, and networks they need to make decisions for better public services in Wales now and in the future.
Further details on this year’s academy programme can be found here and details of the first programme can be found below.

The sessions so far have inspired me to come out of my comfort zone a little and have the confidence to speak up in meetings. Developing my confidence when talking with or presenting to strangers and people who are "higher up" than myself is something I need to do.
The Future Generations Leadership Academy has been an incredible experience so far. I hope to make better connections across Wales. Meeting everyone face-to-face was fantastic - the opportunity to take inspiration from others during networking opportunities and creating new partnerships. I loved hearing the real challenges other sectors face and the importance of co-production. I've learnt so much about how I work and my leadership style which will be invaluable for me going forward
