My heartfelt condolences go to the family and friends of Kyrees Sullivan and Harvey Evans.

I welcome the Welsh Government’s meeting today with community representatives in Ely to discuss support for the community.

I recently joined the Children’s Commissioner for Wales and the Older People’s Commissioner for Wales in championing solidarity between generations, and this is a sentiment I would like to reiterate now.

We have a goal to be a nation of Cohesive Communities under the Well-being of Future Generations Act. This means we must strive for long-term solutions that bring communities together for a Wales we can all be proud of for generations to come.

Going forward, I will continue to make every effort to support our public bodies across Wales to make intergenerationally fair decisions with transparent and principled leadership for the well-being of communities today and tomorrow.
