This report is urgent and any response but an urgent one will be letting down the people of Wales, who deserve climate action now that makes their lives better.

“Big changes are coming, which could bring big benefits, for example with renewable energy,  but to realise these we must change the way we involve communities, to create benefits for people across Wales who have been on the end of extractive and harmful policies in the past.

“These findings show us faster progress to a low carbon Wales is possible, working with communities and businesses, and now Welsh Government and public bodies must reflect and act on the findings to move forward at pace and scale.

“I urge Welsh Government and public bodies to work quickly to put the findings into action, using our Well-being of Future Generations Act, developing the right financial models and preparing a long-term plan to ensure we grab the opportunities for improving lives in Wales for people now and in the future.”
