Mair is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales with over 30 years’ experience as a finance professional. 

She spent 10 years as an auditor and consultant with Deloitte (and formerly Touche Ross) before progressing to hold a number of senior roles in both the public and private sectors, including the Welsh Government, the Welsh European Funding Office and the Wales Co-operative Centre.     

She now runs her own consultancy practice providing a range of business development services to private, public, and third sector organisations, championing good governance, effective risk and financial management, and value for money. 

She has served on executive boards for over ten years, focusing on finance, risk, governance and operational efficiency and effectiveness.   She is currently chair of the Audit and Risk Committee for the Welsh Language Commissioner and is a trustee of the Hay Festival Foundation.  She has served as a trustee of the Wales Council for Voluntary Action, chair of Social Investment (Cymru) Ltd, non-executive director of the Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund and trustee for the Money and Mental Health Policy Unit. 

Mair is a fluent Welsh speaker and lives with her family in Cardiff.
