Simple Changes #42

Explore the potential of time credits within your organisation

1

Problem

Time credits are run by Tempo (formerly Just Add Spice), a charity started in Wales in 2008 and now works across the UK. Time credits continue to inspire people to give their time, to make new friends and connections and learn more about the help available to them. A recent impact report showed that, of the people involved in time credits, 83% reported improved quality of life, 52% felt less isolated and lonely and 60% of people shared their skills with others.

Simple Change

If a time credit system operates in your area, you should encourage their use as a way of reinforcing and incentivising community activities within your area. It shows that you value local residents getting involved with community activities.
