Simple Changes #81
Explore offering hot-desking or video conferencing facilities to other public bodies.
Problem
Transport currently accounts for 14% of our carbon emissions in Wales and in order to meet carbon reduction targets, changes are needed to achieve the 43% reduction target in transport emissions by 2030. Home-working could result in annual savings of over 3 million tonnes of carbon and cut costs by £3 billion in the UK.
Simple Change
As we respond to the changing world of work, it is important you offer flexible choices for your staff. By offering a policy allowing and encouraging the use of your office space for hot-desking, volunteering your video-conferencing facilities, facilitating joint-working and having a flexible working policy, you are helping to cut down on carbon emissions from unnecessary travel, as well as saving costs for staff and for your business.
