Simple Changes #54
Engage in National Play Day
Problem
Play has long been known to have a significant role in building communication and social skills, aesthetic appreciation, creativity and problem-solving. Studies also confirm that play is a significant factor in brain and muscle fibre development and our ability to think reflectively. ‘Play Deprivation’ is the name given to the notion that missing out on play is detrimental for children in terms of development.
Simple Change
By engaging in National Play Day, supporting and encouraging families to get involved throughout your community or being part of its development, you are celebrating a child’s right to play.
